Located in Newport, KY

Once upon a time in the 1800s, Colonel James Taylor, son of the founder of Newport, gave his daughter land for a villa style mansion as a wedding gift. Years later, the mansion became home to a sisterhood of French nuns and was renamed Mount St. Martin. Today, Martin’s Gate gives a nod to Newport’s history while looking forward to bright new days. Our spirit of community is also inspired by Keturah Taylor, a well-known philanthropist and wife of Newport founder James Taylor.

Martin’s Gate sits in an area of Northern Kentucky once known as Clifton. This lively neighborhood on the hill was home to German and Italian immigrants drawn to the view and fresh air. Not far from where the stately Mount St. Martin formerly stood, Martin’s Gate now attracts new residents eager for the views and distinct hillside beauty. It serves as a gateway to the new with a nod to the past. Martin’s Gate is where you can write a new chapter of your own story.

Developed by the Thomas J. Ackermann Company and Meierjohan Building Group, this one-of-a-kind community is the site of HOMEARAMA® 2023.
